I was planning to go out and blow off some steam by walking around the city and hitting a few bars tonight, but I changed my mind. Well, actually, I was originally planning to go to a bar in South Jersey with a couple friends, but they had no idea when they were heading out, and I happen to think South Jersey bars are the worst thing since sliced bread. This particular bar being no exception. What I wound up doing was sitting in a coffee shop, reading a book, and hoping something interesting came up. It didn't. It's a good book though.
I am now going to sit in my room with the lights out and burn some green tea incense while I listen to Regina Spektor and Elysian Fields. It is still kind of hot in here. I am not sure why. It is cool outside, all the windows are open, and the fan is going full blast. It's OK; only last week I was going mad from the heat and humidity. It has been a miserable summer, and I welcome the fall, even if it brings allergens with it and takes a few days to work its cool into the house.
I won't be making it to the museum tomorrow. There is a day or two worth of work left before this latest project will be ready to go live on Monday. I am a little annoyed by that, but it comes with the territory. I am pretty sure I can have it all ready to go within 8 hours tomorrow. I think I could have had it all done today had I started a little earlier and worked through to 7 PM. That would have given me around 12 hours, but my brain called it a day around 4:30.
I'll have a few days off soon. Hopefully I can get to the museum on Tuesday. I wonder if and when the new one is open. I'd like to go to the Mütter Museum too. I might be able to do both in one day. I desperately need to work in some time to clean up this house. It is a wreck and the stove is just gross. The bathroom passed gross weeks ago. Then there's the grocery shopping. I swear, it's busy being busy.
My friends just got back from the bar. This is another reason why I stayed home tonight: It is no fun going to bars with people who come home at a quarter after eleven.
