Shaking Out the Cobwebs

I recently had a dreadful chest cold or perhaps it was the flu. Whatever it was, it effectively put me out of commission for the better part of 3 weeks. As a result, I am unable to complete 300 in 30. It is a disappointment. I'll give it another go later in the year. I am eager to get back to shooting in color for a bit.

I made some minor changes to SiO. Chief among them was dropping the forums. Nobody was using them and I am finished experimenting with the phpBB module for Drupal. I didn't care for it, but it works okay if you need it. I am thinking of turning off the user comments too. I don't get very many, and I don't mind that at all.

I spent the last couple days sprucing up and organizing my computers. My laptop is now a portable knowledge base and web development environment. It's nice. I even set up a local MediaWiki wiki. It's a great way to store notes, code snippets, recipes, shopping lists, and more. This means SiO will now serve as more of your traditional self-serving blog-type thing and photo album.

I have to get back to work now.
