I am learning my way around the CodeIgniter framework. CodeIgniter provides a lot of nice solutions for most of your common application problems, and true to its claims, it is very well documented. I particularly appreciate how it manages scope issues. Planning out a large system that deals with scope in a flexible manner has long been a weak area for me. As ambivalent as I am about object-oriented vs. procedural programming, the MVC pattern is inarguably a great approach for building web applications. CodeIgniter has really renewed my appreciation of this fact.
I have been programming obsessively. I clocked in at about 15 hours yesterday. I spent another solid eight today, but I have to take a break. I can't quite think straight anymore and the physical world is starting to seem a curious and vague afterimage in my mind's eye. I should go out and do something tonight. I'm fighting off a cold though. I expect to lose my voice by morning. That respiratory infection I had recently was so bad that I'm now terrified by every little sniffle. It might be best if I stay in and rest, but that will just turn into more programming. If I had the money to spare, I'd drop in on the pretty one at her work. Perhaps next week.
