My name is Erik. I am a professional web developer. I've been making web sites that do stuff for about 10 years now. In this time I've mostly been working with PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and the Apache HTTP server on *Nix operating systems. I have 4 or 5 years of experience working with Drupal CMS based web sites, with a couple of those years involving custom module development. More recently I've begun digging into frameworks like jQuery and YUI. The more I learn, the less I feel I know.
This web site is my blog, photo album, and testing area all rolled into one. I don't expect anyone other than myself and a few friends and family to pay it any mind. There are codes and stuff here. You can use them in your own projects if you want. The photos and snapshots were all taken by me, and I reserve all the copyrights to them. High-res versions are available by request.
The inspiration for this domain name is taken from the Taoist Zuowanglun, or Discourse in Sitting in Oblivion, by Sima Chengzhen. You can read a little about it here: Discourse on Sitting in Oblivion. There is an English translation by Livia Kohn available in Seven Steps to the Tao: Sima Chengzhen's Zuowanglun, however I believe this book is out of print, which is a shame, because I would like a copy. That said, this web site has little or nothing to do with any of this.
