I Don't Normally Say Dang, but Dang Is It Cold!
So far the skyscraper job is going OK. There is a lot I have to learn as fast as possible. Thus far none of the material has been difficult, as most of the really tricky stuff is handled by third-parties. But there are a great many systems and procedures I must familiarize myself with in short order. I expect to be a Git ninja within the next 30 days or so.
I use a Mac at work. Macs use that goofy command key instead of the regular ctrl key. Switching back and forth can get a little confusing. To make matters more exciting, I have a keyboard with a crazy non-QWERTY layout. That will take some getting used to. I think IT may have given it to me as a challenge. I have the keyboard set up to function mostly like a QWERTY, but a few keys are still in odd spots. Notably, the tilde is off in the lower left corner next to the zed key. Yeah, I said it, the zed key.
I don't have much else to talk about right now. It's too bitter cold outside to do much of anything but thank Heaven you're inside. I'll probably drink a cider, watch some Bob's Burgers, and call it an early night.
