Fuzzy Resolution Number One
It's 2016. I don't know how that happened. You blink and life passes. I've made some resolutions for the coming year, chief among them is to blink less. Not literally, of course. Refusing to blink for long periods at a time is awful for your eyes. It took me years to recover from my last bout with Computer Vision Syndrome, which is a thing, and it's most unpleasant. What I mean by not blinking is to use my time with intent and purpose.
I won't suggest here that this goal is deeply meaningful or noble. This is not about some quest for enlightenment or the bettering of society as a whole. Instead, it's about making the most of what little time is available to me, personally. It's easy to take life for granted, and in so doing we may often fritter the days away mindlessly. There's nothing wrong with diddling your life away, if you ask me, but I do think it's important to do so in a manner you find worthwhile. Such directed idleness requires great focus.
