Damsel in Distress, Kind Of
This is not my favorite of the February Fourteenths of which I can recall, but it hasn't been so bad either. I held the train for a beautiful young woman this morning. She laughed appreciatively as I urged her to run for it.
I probably would have held the door for her even if she wasn't so nice to look at it. I'm not entirely sure. Beautiful people are distracting. They draw in the eye. Were she not so pretty, it's likely my attention would have naturally gravitated elsewhere and her plight gone wholly unnoticed.
The poor girl came this close to waiting another 5 or 10 minutes for the next train! Fortunately that didn't happen and the day was saved. Quite the hero, your humble narrator.
Happy Valentine's Day!
