Out of the Woods and Into a Glade
We're coming out of a deep freeze into a regular freeze with a bit of snow. The forecast isn't calling for much accumulation, but everyone is griping anyhow. Appreciate the seasons while we still have them. I don't mind the weather. I'm excited to maybe get outside and take pictures, even. It's been weeks! My only complaint is I'm spending a fortune on distilled water to keep the humidifiers going. Trust me. You don't want to breathe my tap water, so I'm going through two gallons of the bottled stuff a day!
My sinus infection is nearly gone. Would you believe I used up at least nine boxes of tissues so far? Goopageddon. Now and again, I still get a little build-up, but not much, and it no longer smells wretched (that was weird and unpleasant). I even managed to get out for a coffee today. The coffee shop is the furthest I've been from my bed in maybe eleven days. During that time, I survived mainly on cookies, cold cuts, black tea, and soda. Sadly, coffee is not as good as I remember it. And I need to lose ten pounds right away.
My cracked tooth started nagging at me again last night. It doesn't hurt, but most things don't hurt me most of the time. I can feel that tooth thinking about hurting real evil in the near future. I didn't want to wind up snowed in over the weekend with a throbbing toothache and nothing to be done about it until Monday, so I called the dentist this morning. He prescribed another round of antibiotics to keep any infection in check until I see the surgeon in a couple of weeks. With a bit o' luck, I'll get a twofer, and the drugs will polish off the last vestiges of this sinus infection, too.
