I'm Not Procrastinating, I Am Napping
It's downright chilly today,1 and I love it. I'm wearing a sweatshirt and have a throw blanket covering up my legs, a lovely preview of fall to come. I have the whole day off, and there's very little I need to do aside from enjoying the weather.
My computer glasses are falling apart to the point where I've had to resort to Scotch Tape to keep one of the lenses on, so I saw the ophthalmologist early this morning to have my eyes checked before spending money on a new pair of spectacles. My presbyopia is progressing right on schedule, smack in the middle of the normal distribution; my Rx bumped another +0.25.
I also got a prescription for eyedrops that are supposed to prevent my tear film from evaporating too quickly.2 Depending on how my insurance handles the situation with Bausch + Lomb, the drops will cost me somewhere between $0 and $800 out of pocket each month.3 The specialty pharmacy is sending me a sample to try while the billing gets sorted (or not sorted).
Now, I'm stuck inside my apartment waiting for a DHL courier to deliver me a package that needs to be signed for. It's scheduled to arrive by the end of the day, which isn't so helpful in my planning a day. However, as I said, I don't have anything much I need to get done, so I'll curl up on the sofa and take a nap in the cool breeze while I wait.

I have moderate DED (Dry Eye Disease). It's not terrible (yet), but you don't want it. Take my word. ↩︎

If the cost is too high, I will pursue IPL treatments in the immediate future. ↩︎
