Sunday, March 29th, 2015If a machine powers off without going through the full shutdown process, a reboot may find mysql unable to start because of the following error:
Another MySQL daemon already running with the same unix socket.
You can fix this by creating a new mysql socket file like so:
mv /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock.bak
