Helter Swelter
Most of my life, had anyone asked, I'd have claimed to be a dog person because of my fondness for dogs. However, I've recently come to realize, as people go, I'm very much like a cat. In retrospect that should have been obvious. Anyways, I'm an indoor cat now.
We've been suffering through a heatwave. The high temperatures have been in the nineties for days now, possibly even years. The humidity is so extreme the heat clings to your skin, preventing any natural cooling. Other than my daily photo walks, I've been spending as much time in the air-conditioning as possible. I'm aware the use of cooling devices will inevitably lead to an increase in the number and severity of heatwaves in the future. I don't know what to tell you.
Around every corner lurks doom, outrage, and someone shouting about activism. But it's too hot, and your constant bickering is exhausting, so I'm choosing battles on my own terms. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to knock some things off that shelf over there and follow it up with a long nap on the sofa.
