A Parade Come Too Early

There is a parade somewhere out of sight. A rat-a-tat-tat of snare drums echoing out from the park. I'd rather not deal with it. The weather is unenthusiastically grey and chilly, and I'm low on energy.

I was low on energy yesterday, too. It rained a cold rain from morning until midnight. I wound up spending most of the day straight into the evening watching YouTube on the TV while staring at the social media on a laptop. This was not at all satisfying. Alas, and arguably alack, one can't ever get the hours spent internetting[1] back, not even come November.

Now, I'm behind on chores that need to get done before family visits later today. Working in a photo walk before the visit would be nice also, but I don't think that's happening. Whoever runs the time machine switched up all the clocks last night for Daylight Saving Time. I slept late without the opportunity to enjoy it.

The overlooming[1] grey is giving way to fluffy white clouds set adrift on cerulean skies. I have nothing to wear. One more cup of tea as I proofread this, then I'll start the laundry.

  1. Professors and volunteer cyber-pedants love to go on about how Shakespeare invented nearly 2 million words commonly used in the English language today, but then they'll turn right around and tell you internetting and overlooming aren't words, as if Shakespeare were the only one allowed to make stuff up. Whatever I "add to dictionary" is now a word in my book.
