I Could Bass Boom This Whole Block if I Wanted To
They tell me tomorrow is a deluge. Here I am, me, without my ark. My plan was to walk around and take photographs in the downpour, but, at the rate I'm drinking strong beers, I may sleep in for the entire weekend. I suppose I could ease off the gas. Makes sense. Won't fix.
I had a talk with the neighbors about the stereo. I recently bought one. A stereo. A little Denon D-M41SBK . It's loud. I threw in a 10-inch subwoofer while I was at it. It didn't occur to me how loud a modern 10-inch subwoofer could be. Especially a nice one. I have the damn thing turned down to 1.5 out of 10. Any higher and the entire building vibrates and hums and windows whinge about the likelihood of their shattering. It sounds so nice.
I devote hours and hours to listening to music, like when I was a teenager. Only, these days I have tinnitus and nominal hearing loss, coupled with a ridiculous budget for buying new music albums. I could stream music for cheaper. I know. I do that too. I have accounts. But I like to imagine some portion of the sales proceeds go to the artists when I buy an album. It's important that artists get to enjoy some taste of the fruits of their genius in their own lifetimes.
At any rate, I'm buying music faster than any human with a day job can listen to it all.
I love it.
