The Darkest Before Dawn And Other Stories

I'm late on my Friday blog entry. I know. Please excuse me. It's been a busy week. I officially start my new skyscraper job at 9 a.m. Monday morning. Shutting down my freelance business has been far more work than I anticipated. I'm utterly exhausted from it all. Further, as a result of the timing of things—and a good number of my clients paying bills at their own convenience as though such payments were a favor on my behalf—not only am I thoroughly overworked, but I'm desperately broke right now too. All the credit cards are maxed out, the bank account is down to literally a few dollars, and there's nowhere and no-one left to borrow a few coppers from. But that should all work itself out in a month or so. In the meantime, I'm writing this entry on a midnight subway ride while the lot of us on this train listen to a man argue loudly on the phone with his mistress about her various infidelities. Who am I to judge? Glass houses and whatnot.
