Trademarked Sporting Event Halftime Soft Launch

If you see a 404 page here, your local DNS has not updated to my new server's IP address quite yet. On the other hand, if you've read this far, then behold the new SittingInOblivion.com!

Yes, I know, it's pretty much just the default Bartik theme with the fonts reined in, but Bartik is an alright theme once you get the fonts under control. The next step is making the site all responsive for your phones and tablets, but I'm in no hurry for that at the moment. Honestly, I haven't even done a browser-quirk check yet, so this might look totally crazy to you. If so, I'll get to it. I'm exhausted from a weekend long code sprint and data entry marathon.

Oh, the data entry! How do people do that for a living? I drove myself more than halfway to mad migrating content over into the wee hours of the night. Seriously, the drudgery nearly drove me insane, but I was in a hurry to get it done before my old host sent out a bill for this coming month.

I would have saved myself a lot of hassle had I taken a day to work out how to move everything with the Migrate module. I kept telling myself I was in a hurry and didn't have time to fuss around with such a steep learning curve off the clock. That was dumb. If I had spent 8 to 10 hours learning how to program site migrations with assorted node relationships, I would have saved myself a few hours, admittedly not many, but I'd also have learned how to do complex migrations with the Migration module. Money in the bank, that would have been, but I was foolish in my haste.

I think the work will prove worthwhile. This new incarnation will allow me to make playlists, create picture galleries, and do all sorts of other neat tricks. Well, it can't actually do any of that now, but it puts me in a position where programming such features will be relatively simple.

I'm not sold on this new hosting provider yet. They feel a little slow to me, but maybe I have to upgrade my package to get a little more juice. I'm on the cheapest tier now. Perhaps a step or two up is in order.

Enjoy your Trademarked Sporting Event XLIX. I don't go in for soccer, personally, but you all have fun.
