The Women in My Life

There is, in my kitchen, a small spider on the verge of becoming a medium spider. I have been keeping an eye on her for a few days. I don’t know for a fact that she is a female, but judging from her rapid growth, it seems most likely.  She has doubled or perhaps even tripled in size this week alone.

I heedlessly break up her webs every evening when I prepare dinner. Or when I put the box dinner came in on the counter. It’s about a 50/50 split on that one. I doubt she appreciates the disruption. I am, at times, an awful roommate. I don't do it on purpose, but how does a guy apologize to an arachnid?

A mosquito the size of my fist has taken up residence in my living room. She launches 3 or 4 sorties against me every 10 to 15 minutes. I'm certain she is a female by this fact alone. Being allergic to mosquitoes, I'm covered in itchy welts which will not likely heal for about a week.

These are the women in my life. Oh, how I wish they would meet one another.
