Make Up Your Own Title and Imagine I Wrote It Here
I'm on the sofa wearing two sweatshirts and a fleece throw blanket. Sure, I could close the windows, but I'm loving the chill right now. Summer drags on for so long anymore; It's about time fall decided to show up. The weather ladies all say the cool temperatures are here to stay for the season, and I am glad for it.
Prone to wishful thinking, I ordered a new jacket weeks ago and expect it to arrive this Tuesday. I tried to find one made in the U.S.A., but American-made clothing is rare these days, so you typically have to order it online, and I couldn't find anything that appealed to me in a price range I'd risk purchasing clothing for sight unseen, and I'll inevitably spill coffee on it anyway, so I wound up buying a basic number from one of the pricier department stores. It seems I often have to shop upscale to find lowkey clothing. The jacket is "imported," a term that has lost any cachet it once held and is now a marketing department euphemism for made in Chinese sweatshops like everything else, so how upscale can any place selling such merchandise truly be?
I'm settling into what I imagine will be my final taste in fashion. The goal is apparel that doesn't attract attention and requires little consideration when throwing together an outfit. Barack Obama famously said, "You'll see I wear only gray or blue suits...I don't want to make decisions about what I'm eating or wearing, because I have too many other decisions to make." I don't have so many decisions to make, and those I do aren't nearly as important. I'm just not interested in deciding what to wear. If I can come up with a few basic combos that are presentable and comfortable enough, then I'm done with the subject for good. We'll see how it works out.
